
Apprenticeship in Print
An apprenticeship is recognised across the globe by individuals and employers who wish to invest in a successful future with qualified staff. The scheme is aimed at young people between 16 – 24 years of age and certificated by the Sector Skills Council –Proskills and City & Guilds.
Learn2print offers the apprenticeship scheme at two levels (Level 2, and Level 3), each program of study is made up of three independently certificated parts: Printing and Graphic Communications 5261, National Vocational Qualifications
and Key skills.
Apprenticeship
This is a level two programme, which allows the candidate to select a specialism in the field of print, then work toward a recognised qualification. It includes both knowledge and practical based assessment and takes approximately two years to complete. Completion of this course provides the entry requirements onto the Advanced Apprenticeship.
Advanced Apprenticeship
These are level three qualifications, which once again, allow the candidate to select a specialism within the field of print and work towards more in depth level of study. It includes both knowledge and practical based assessment and takes between three to four years to complete, depending on prior learning. This qualification will allow you to progress onto a foundation level degree.
Key Skills
Both levels of apprenticeship have key skills attached to them to help the learner gain the necessary basic skills to meet the needs of the job. Some candidates will be exempt from these providing they have achieved “grade C” or above in Maths or English within five years of starting the programme.

Printing and Graphic Communications
This is the theoretical element of study. It is to ensure that you have the relevant level of knowledge to support the practical side of your job. It is delivered in modules and assessed both online and a paperbased test.
