Safeguarding

Taking care of you at Learn2print

What is Safeguarding?

Safeguarding young people and vulnerable adults is about much more than child protection. It means taking a comprehensive approach that prevents young people from any potential source of harm. It extends to educate parents, guardians and those who work with young or vulnerable adults about how to decrease the opportunities for abuse and how to deal with it and act accordingly if the situation arises.

Safeguarding at Learn2print

Learn2print have a Safeguarding Policy and Code of Practice. This is to assist staff in maintaining proper and professional relationships with learners and vulnerable adults. Its purpose is to provide a clear and unambiguous picture of the boundaries associated with staff roles and the use of power and authority.

As an organisation we are committed to the safety and welfare of all learners who are in contact with the organisation and its employees or volunteers, either through recruitment, training, assessment, coaching or counselling. The welfare, safety and protection of learners are of the utmost importance to the organisation and consequently we aim to adopt the highest possible standards and take all reasonable steps in relation to safeguarding their well-being.

Learn2print recognises its duty of care and legal obligation to safeguard and promote the welfare of all its learners and to respond immediately if there is any suspicion that a learner may be at risk, under threat or a victim of any activities or actions which are deemed to be in contravention of this policy or any existing or new legislation. The management, staff and volunteers of the organisation are required to uphold this policy and abide by its principles and the code of practice.

A helpful source of information relating to Radicalisation can be found on the internet under the heading ‘The Prevent Agenda’. Please see the link below for details. ‘The Prevent Agenda’ contains a duty on specified authorities to have due regard to the need to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism.
